Do I just take an ibuprofen for the pain? Then how do i know I ripped one if it doesnt hurt and I cant look? Can I just put gauze and medical tape overtop if i take it off?

If i do take it off will a bandaid suffice or is this tattoo rules and its a different bandage like 2nd skin? Is there a point in which I CANT bend my knee or risk ripping them? I did it yesterday in the office he said it was fine, so it must be fine but they hirt way more than they did yesterday??
