My recollection of who I actually saw at cons suggests ladies/girls were very few. Whilst I am sure many played, compared to the (mostly white) men/boys they are a small niche within a niche. This changed in time. Especially once VtM came out, drawing in many more types of players

Realistically I probably just want to play B/X, Traveller and "Gumshoe influenced" CofC. If it is a new game less is more, eg I rate Questworlds, Cthulhu Dark, Cthulhu Hack and Sanction

I like rules to be simple and work, with a focus on narrative but not rail roaded plots nor do I want detailed rules for social conflict.

I find OSR as a germ has lost its way, as to me it basically meant a DnD clone. Then became old style game play...now it means....what?

I am sure you have an audience and that is great. AP as entertainment is a worthy format, as is AP as a demonstration of feel/rules etc. The more options the merrier imo

I used a screen in the 80s as it was a quick way to reference key rules and tables. Also allowing for secret rolls and hiding the module's map. The need for one recently is much reduced.

The play is the point of an rpg. Do I want to listen to someone else?

If it is great sound, great players and also a game i want to learn about, i might consider it. Otherwise I am out
