ADHD can be crippling by itself sure, but it's also not without some upsides for @ least some of us @ times.
I mostly kept out of trouble at school until I went so mega the teachers were left with no choice but to enact severe discipline.
I usually finished schoolwork ahead of the rest of the class.

Often in class I'd genuinely try my best at school work with the occasional prank, finish work ahead of the class except some of the most exceptionally gifted at times.
I wasn't great @ every subject sure, yet I did surprisingly well at GCSEs despite being underage drunk & smoking UK soapbar though!

I think of the REALLY naughty kids.
Many of them had a combination of outright bad parents, almost certainly ADHD, almost certainly dyslexia which went underdiagnosed in my youth.
Told they were bad evil and stupid by teachers SMH!
Those who didn't end up in jail often became skilled manual workers.

Yes, I was very naughty at school.
These men I'm talking about, as children they were regularly stealing cars & motorbikes outside of school hours!
Those who avoided going so wrong in the head they ended up in jail, became construction workers, car mechanics, other skilled industrial manual workers!
