This would be on the @nytimes.com front page already.

He is accurately describing a foreign country, but its Saudi Arabia, not Venezuela.

These "prosecutors" have names. I really do not understand why, when you all know they are intentionally abusing their authority, our media continues to help them remain anonymous. They have no such right or legit expectation under these circumstances.
December 16, 2025 at 3:57 PM
The prosecutor has a name. Why aren't you using it? These DOJ lawyers are abusing their authority. They have no right to be anonymous when they do that and its really inconsistent with your job as a journalist to help them remain anonymous, which you are clearly doing.

It's been both fun and sad watching S.Ct "experts" try to justify the S.Ct. majority's behavior towards Trump. They have this collective desire to believe that we still have a rational S.Ct majority, deciding cases objectively, a desire that continues long after the facts show that is not true.
December 16, 2025 at 3:32 PM
@nytimes.com has reported about this, but the article's overall tone is that its just Trump being Trump, not that it refelcts serious mental health and behavioral issues that require immediate medical attention. Huge double standard when compared to how the Times reported on Biden's mental issues.
December 15, 2025 at 9:24 PM
Altho @nytimes page has extensive coverage about Reiner's death, including some about very recent developments, so far the Times has not even acknowledged this despicable post by Trump. WTF?
December 15, 2025 at 5:59 PM
My bet is @nytimes.com says nothing about this, or, if they report it, they bury it and try to normalize it.
December 15, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Its is overall a pro-vaccination message, which is great, but she somehow tries to blame Biden and his handling of the COVID vaccine, WTF, before moving on to the current administration. Are her numbers for Canada correct?

Wow talk about twisting his words. I speak German too and the very clear thrust of his entire speech is for a united Europe to step up to replace the alliance with the US, which Trump has destroyed.
December 14, 2025 at 6:29 PM
US corp media seems to be ridiculously focusing on what Merz said about Putin and ignoring his truly historic&accurate declaration that Trump has destroyed the US/NATO alliance that has preserved peace in Europe since WWII. Merz's language is very clear and direct, especially in the original German.
December 14, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Blaming this on Merz is beyond insane, completely counter-factual.Trump is destroying our decades-long alliances in Europe that have been essential for maintaining peace.Merz is simply stepping up to acknowledge that openly and stepping into the massive gap created by Trump's idiocy and self-dealing.
December 14, 2025 at 6:18 PM
If Germany has any sense they will expel the US from bases on its soil. Spain, Italy, Greece and the rest of NATO should follow, although it will take Britain a bit longer I think. The loss of the huge US airbase at Rahmstein will be an enormous strategic loss for the US, and for Israel.
December 14, 2025 at 6:13 PM
Wishful thinking. Trump and the idiots who elected him are doing damage that may be permanent.
December 14, 2025 at 6:09 PM
This is what Trump has done. Hard to overstate the extent of the damage that Trump has done to the huge US interest in maintaining peace in Europe by destroying our alliance with NATO generally and Germany specifically. This is very clearly not in US interest, but it does benefit Trump, financially.
December 14, 2025 at 6:05 PM
This won't get nearly enough attention from US corp media. The German chancellor is saying quite clearly, the auf Deutsch version is remarkably klar, that the German/American alliance is over/vorbei. IMHO this has been the most stable and important alliance since WWII in terms of guaranteeing peace.
December 14, 2025 at 6:02 PM
This is a really important point that no one in our media seems to realize or is addressing. If we can do this to our supposed enemies then they can do this to us.We adhere to the laws of war because they protect our soldiers too. So this is more evidence Trump doesn't care at all about our soldiers.

He means "consumerism" that is centered on insurance companies denying coverage for preexisting conditions.
December 14, 2025 at 4:27 PM
And the Aussie police, because they are properly trained, unlike in most of the US, did not shoot the hero just because he wasn't white.
December 14, 2025 at 4:16 PM
He's right-wing "christian" nut job. Blasphemy seems to be his standard line.
December 14, 2025 at 3:20 AM
And it also happens to be pretty accurate.

This was the start of the GOP openly taking advantage of what still remains as the Dems Achilles heel. The GOP will openly violate laws and "norms" to obtain power, the Dems will not, and they will acquiesce when the GOP does it so they look "reasonable." Voters don't give a sh** about "reasonable."
