It's sad that we are back to where we were before Teddy Roosevelt's famous trust busting efforts more than a 100 years ago and quoting the S.Ct justices who supported those efforts. Unfortunately, most of the current justices believe the super-wealthy have a 1st Amendment right to subvert democracy.

It's sad that we are back to where we were before Teddy Roosevelt's famous trust busting efforts more than a 100 years ago and quoting the S.Ct justices who supported those efforts. Unfortunately, most of the current justices believe the super-wealthy have a 1st Amendment right to subvert democracy.
This is actually not a huge exaggeration. The Times editors are clearly trying to normalize Trump threatening to have Dem members of Congress executed.
Whoever writes New York Times headlines should be treated as an accessory to murder.

Exactly. Important to distinguish between what Trump is doing, prosecuting people who did nothing wrong, solely because they followed the facts & law, and what must happen-swift & certain prosecution- to the fascists who are now criminally abusing their positions to undermine the rule of law.
I urge members of the legal profession to realize that prosecuting individuals who seek to overturn the constitutional order is not "retaliation" in any normatively significant sense.

The mistake here is to assume that the six fascist justices care about any of this, especially Roberts who-despite decades of media propaganda trying to portray him as an "institutionalist"-actually only cares about the agenda he has had since law school to radically remake the court and the law.
