US is a very wealthy country, especially for a privileged few.We could feed, house and provide health insurance to everyone, while still allowing those privileged few to remain obscenely wealthy. Their refusal to share even a small amount of their wealth is the real story.

And as the State of Oregon's letter clearly establishes, using actual quotes from the DOJ lawyer's oral argument, he did in fact expressly mislead the 9th Circuit panel, stating that "many" of the 115 officers remained in Portland, when, at that time, only 20 were there. 20 out of 115 is not "many."
The DOJ letter claims the State of Oregon's letter did not claim that the DOJ's lawyer misrepresented the facts during argument, but the quotes from him in the state's letter show a pretty clear misrepresentation, where he suggested "many" of the 115 were still in Portland, when the actual # was 20.
Even their "correction" still significantly overstates the impact of the deployments. They don't acknowledge that at most 31 agents were ever in Portland at the same time and in September that number has been as low as 20.And they don't seem to address at all what their lawyer said during arguments.
Appellate courts do it on their own fairly regularly. Its a little dangerous to ask for that and lose, but the facts certainly warranted it and the 11th Circuit could have done it on its own.
Maybe, but don't let the 11th Circuit off the hook for failing to remove her from the case. They had several opportunities to do so, it's hardly unprecedented to remove a judge who repeatedly makes not just incorrect, but wholly irrational rulings. The whole federal judicial system failed us.

They aren't questioning the truthfulness,they've proven that Trumps DOJ's stooges lied.They are using DOJ's own discovery responses! Judge Garber's dissent directly questioned their vague assertions in declarations and the DOJ lawyer openly lied during the 9th Circuit argument.Why hedge about this?
This lets Justice Roberts off the hook way to easily. Law can't be a check on illegal behavior when the criminal is given absolute immunity. Roberts wholly made-up legal opinion finding some previoulsy unknown absolute immunity for Trump is 100% responsible for Trump's current recklessness.

Exactly, the military folks all know this violates international and US law. Trump may try to pardon them, but that has no effect on what the International Court of Justice will do to them. But I do hear the prison cells in The Hague are nice, so there is that.
There are a lot of people out there with tattoos they regret and who don't like the media and pundits telling them they are bad people. I know it was a Nazi tattoo and I think he should withdraw, but our media and pundits are just once again proving how little they understand the average person.
