This struggle intersects with and amplifies racial/gender disparity, but is also seen in the race and gender that our administration clearly favors right now. I hope that conservatives see through this and recognize that these decisions also affect the populations they claim to care about.

Being a first-gen student, the finanical infeasibility of unpaid internships, simply not knowing what opportunities exist, and never meeting an academic/scientist in your regular life restrict students' potential. These are all common experiences to small town, working class students.

Rich politicians put on cute little cowboy costumes and cosplay like blue-collar workers despite many of them being born into affluent families with legacy scholarships to Ivy League law schools. As someone from a small Louisiana town with virtually no opportunities, this is a big slap in the face.
