Whatever you do, please don’t stop reading.

Read for joy. Read for education. Read for resistance. Read banned books. Read books by marginalized authors. Read about experiences that differ from your own.

Just. Keep. Reading.

Please tell me there are other people who listen to audiobooks not previously on their TBR simply because they are narrated by the same narrator who read another audiobook they loved.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

The most lovely cozy fantasy audiobook I’ve ever read is on sale right now on libro.fm! Grab it while you can and support a local indie bookstore in the process. I adore this book and cannot wait for @julieleong.bsky.social’s next one to be released later this year. ✨

Nothing - absolutely nothing - prevented news organizations from running this headline before the election, when it was equally true as now and could have made a difference.

As Mariam Kaba said, "hope is a discipline."

As Václav Havel said (well before he helped liberate his country from totalitarianism), “Hope is … is not the conviction that something will turn out well but the certainty that something is worth doing, regardless of how it turns out.”

Great resource for the Trans Rights Readathon! Nice mix of fiction and non. I just filled my @libro.fm and my Libby app wishlists with many books from this list I haven’t read yet.
Really looking forward to getting into these. libro.fm/playlists/tr...

PSA that we can support both our independent bookshop AND public library ❤️

They play such a vital role in our local communities, and they both need our support to stay open and keep offering valuable resources.

It's not either/or, but both/and 🥰

When I finish a great book on Libby and see people are waiting for it as I go to return, I always send warm thoughts that the next person’s day will be brightened it’s ready for them and that they will enjoy it as well. Just another little way libraries can remind us of our connection to others.

Has anyone else tried lapse as an alternative to IG? I use it as a photo journal, no captions. Fun to look back on the past year of everyday moments, but I don’t know many others who use it.

A cool thing I recently learned about @bsky.app is there’s a setting you can enable that requires you to add alt text in any photos you share so you don’t forget. Hint: I like to use voice-to-text to write my alt text and this article has other super helpful tips.

A few books I’ve read recently that would make great additions to your post-election reading list. I’ve been reading a TON of fiction too, because it helps me balance out the heavier topics, I just found these important/impactful and highly recommend:

Feels like I should have something interesting or clever for my first post over here, but I don’t want to set any expectations too high. Just trying this out since the only person I still regularly interact with on the other app is here too. We’ll see if it sticks.
