Ah, sorry. I've got the EM1 which has neither 😅

Lots of lovely rayed Common Knapweed Centaurea nigra and plenty of Pepper-saxifrage Silaum silaus, many turning a beautiful autumn red. North Hinksey, Oxford yesterday. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

And doing v well by the looks of it. Shame about grazing...some fine cows just across the path in the larger meadow doing a great job.

Excellent choice, same as mine. I'd like to upgrade to the OM1 and get the bird specific focus tracking and pro capture.

Which lens did you go for?

The mega rare Creeping Marshwort Helosciadum repens from North Hinksey, Oxford today. Great to see it doing so well there. I couldn't find it on Port Meadow, but that's a huge area! @bsbibotany.bsky.social

My main reason for visiting the beautiful Port Meadow, Oxford, was to see Marsh Dock Rumex palustris. This species doesn't occur in Hampshire (one record, from 1928), so a special trip was needed. Very pleased, it's a lovely thing. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

A trip up the road to Port Meadow, Oxford today. Stumbled on the marvellous Mudwort Limosella aquatica: easily hundreds, likely thousands. Also, might the orange blob in the last image be a fungal growth? @bsbibotany.bsky.social

I think you're contending with multiple sources of vibration: tripod, hide, wind, and touch. Not sure there's a lot you can do with that apart from a solid video head on a heavy tripod. And use the app to take the photos.

What looks like Maple-leaved Goosefoot Chenopodiastrum hybridum, growing in a Winchester allotment today. I've only seen it once before, but this looked unusual. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

Dense-flowered Fumitory Fumaria densiflora and Common Fumitory Fumaria officinalis in full flow in a delightfully weedy bed at a Winchester allotment site today. @bsbibotany.bsky.social

Some planted but spreading oddities at a Winchester allotment today. A Lycium species, likely L. chinense (Goji), and Reseda odorata.

You just need a macro lens and your transition to botanist will be complete 😅

I find that mince and mealy pies solve all these issues. If they were available down here....

@naturelark.bsky.social You may notice that I've nabbed your wonderful Scots word 'fankle' for an article on Fumaria.
