accelerationism is an idealist fantasy whose core faith is the spontaneity of mass (re)action. it forgets entirely that all political action requires organization. conditions are never sufficient, no matter how bad they get; there is no such spontaneity. this is why it is ultimately antipolitical
The accelerationist belief that if things get bad enough, then things will start to get better is quite something to see in the wild. It’s wrong though. Historically, misery creates more misery and is visited on the most marginalized in ever intensifying cycles of horror.

💯 I joined CT Tenants Union after becoming numb from policy work that felt like a dead end in the face of elite power (and a 115% rent hike!). CTTU taught me how to organize, and transformed my understanding of how tenants can win together.

As someone who is about to leave a legal aid non profit that does tenants rights law, I’m pumped to listen to this & began reading the book a few days before the ep aired. Legal protections for tenants are abysmal. My ~3 years in tenant law has taught me that organizing is the only way out.
“Our mission in the union is to crush the lawyers.”

Stupendous episode of @thedigradio.bsky.social on tenant organizing, with a heap of nonprofit hate that warms my soul (during my 15 degree outdoor morning workout).
