The Child Molester in Chief says the New York Times is a “threat to the National Security of our Nation” and a “TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.” The same child molester that fought to keep Jack Smith's second final report secret.

The thing where Trump names everything after himself isn’t a funny little quirk but an incredibly reliable indicator that a leader is in fact a dictator. It doesn’t happen in any democratic society, no sane leader does it

I’ve made a copy of the 60 Minutes INSIDE CECOT segment. If Substack takes it down, I’ll put it up on my website. I know there are cleaner copies out there, but I kinda like the punk rock bootlegged version. The link is in my pinned post if you haven’t seen it yet.

LoL'd at an email I received today. CC interest stayed around 14.5% from 2009 to 2018. Only recently have banks gone off the rails thinking 21.74% is a great balance-transfer deal.

In other news: Trump has ended the CFPB, which will close down in 2026 due to lack of funding...

”There is a perception that forcefully tackling this issue would cause political backlash from the Somali community, which is a core voting block for Democrats.”

Only a problem if A) this statement is verbatim from the AGO, and B) the writer is in a position to know.

So I just read about how Trump's USAID cuts are causing more starvation in Africa...and I'm honestly of two minds about it: 1) No one on earth should ever starve to death. 2) If fixing starvation in an area is impossible, then people shouldn't live there. $7B/year in perpetuity seems short-sighted.

Did anyone see a clear and concise list like this during the congressional standoff? Anyone seeing an arguement like this even now? I whipped this up in literally 20 minutes. Our elected officials SUCK at communication.

The Pentagon has diverted $2 BILLION of its money to support the Trump admin's deportation operations.

And Congress just voted to give them $8 BILLION more.

We need to stop this egregious funding for an agency that hasn't even passed an audit EVER!

I've had family and co-workers who are gun enthusiasts. Heard all the excuses against gun laws. But every excuse involves either selective attention, irrational risk management, ignorance of the phrase "well regulated militia", or relies on a outdated understanding of US exceptionalism.

A spinning top’s wobble precedes its eventual fall.

Every rule and tradition that’s destroyed in favor of empowering the executive branch adds more wobble between administrations. Soon entire presidencies will be spent simply undoing what’s been done by the previous administration.

Hopelessly convoluted research topic: If ICE needs masks, why don’t normal uniformed police need masks? Don’t they deal with more significant threats?

Recent debate on X went unchallenged by the few left-leaning folks in the chat. A main pro-Trump point ignored this basic question.

Since it seems we continue to let six unelected, lifetime-tenured conservatives act as an unchallenged ultimate authority, here's a three year old reminder of how perverse our US Supreme Court has become:

Trump giving himself fake medals. I've been to countless award ceremonies and I've never, not even once, seen the person take the award from the proffer and put it on their self. What's going on? Is this AI slop? It looks like AI slop.

Typical Republican incompetence: Spend significant time trying to condition your military for an eventual coup, then blow it by throwing them under the bus too early. So thankful that these machiavellian morons never bothered to actually read Machiavelli.

There's a difference between freedom of speech and permissive disinformation. We're in an epidemic of disinformation. The only way forward I can see is to connect every false statement to financial loss and flood the courts with suits for fraud. Eventually the pain point will need to be addressed.

Autoimmune disorders must really suck. There's undoubtedly a lot of people suffering. I feel for these people and hope we discover causes and cures fast. In the mean time I'd appreciate it if YouTube would stop insisting I need meds for Crohn's, IBD, and ulcerative colitis.
