A stat block describing the capabilities of a necromancer of the "Black Scythe," a cadre of mortals who serve a vampire and are as edgy as the name they chose. While the necromancer is extremely susceptible to physical attacks, they can make great use of their undead servants. Their necromantic constructs are more mobile, effective, and durable, and can even be used to absorb dangerous attacks that might otherwise harm them.

Back on the topic of Funny Little Guys, I was inspired to make a few pseudodragon variants for niche magical vibes. One of my favorites from this idea is the Scrollworm Pseudodragon, which has somehow absorbed the power from a spell scroll and is a menace to wizards everywhere

A stat block for D&D 5th edition that describes the capabilities of the Awoken ("Xypnise" in Greek), an undead hero mummified by the limestone environment they were buried in. This being has several gimmicks, including having no eyes due to the conditions of their mummification, but still being able to perceive the world around them, as well as interacting strangely with water due to their heavily dessicated state. Their primary capability is moving lightning-fast and unleashing a staggering number of weapon attacks, although absorbing enough water will temporarily slow them down.

For an individual with a fear of death and a decent amount of coin, they might hire a Mercenary Protector! While they still don't serve to guard a community, these sellswords (or sell-axes in this case) will keep merchants and petty nobles safe.

The next level of organization I made for what might be considered a "town guard" is actually Mercenary Guard. They'd work for anyone with enough money to pay them but not enough to do any better, and subsidize their income through shaking people down.
