Humans are amazingly adaptable.

Like, just last night, I was thinking to myself how much more innocent of a time it was when we were all laughing at him over "bad hombres."

Anyway, frogs in pots are adaptable too.

At the gym, so of course FOX is on.

The F&F are having a "behind the scenes" segment where the debate is who gets credit for buying the DAILY coffee. (one person's card, another does the ordering).

Have they not heard about the price of eggs? How can they afford to buy coffee every day?

The Muppet Christmas Carol is quickly becoming our family favorite Christmas music.

My five y.o. is busy singing "MARLEY AND MARLEY!" over and over (and over and over...)

It's so McDonald's.

All my allies got culled in the third act, so now I'm trying to befriend all my enemies, bribing them with my advanced goods.

Old Lizzy isn't having any of it, but I make up 95% of the population, so I think I have some leverage. #arahistoryuntold

I have 3 goals this week:

1) finish the stair framing for inspection

2) kick-off and make real headway in an SEO consulting project I landed Friday

3) finally finish a game of Ara: History Untold (just entered Act 3 for the first time)

My youngest went and got sick though. Well played, universe.

From circa 2004-2004, I worked graveyard.

I listened to this song a lot and watched the music video way too often (it was always on super late at night/super early in the morning)

Oh, Reddit. You and your usernames...
When the Potato Famine hit Ireland, what kind of local efforts were there to try and stop it? Plough up some good posts with /u/NewtonianAssPounder, and get an answer to this #history question.

The #XPNCountdown this season has been fun.

But my personal favorite part is the Wii music. (I think it's the Wii theme...)

Did I just hear we're already at #15 on #xpncountdown?!

Good times fly.

Just played a couple games of Onitama with the wife.

Simple, elegant games are totally my jam.

Any other recommendations of simple and elegant analog games? (Especially for 2-4 players)

One small request this holiday season:

Can movie studios stop making live action versions of Millennials' favorite cartoons from their childhood?

I have never looked at the Little Mermaid or Lion King and thought "gosh I wish this was real."

It's not like adults are allergic to cartoons. Yeesh.

It's nice to know the conspiracies you and your hippie college friends were sure the conservative Right were up to were actually true and not just crazy conspiracy theories.

Anyway, happy Thanksgiving.

Remember its history in the civil war and give your dumb uncle a hug. Or at least a head nod.

Spending a month on Bluesky has created a whole new model of a fight we need to be having right now. Not liberal vs. conservative or whatever, but respect vs manipulation.

I am tired of being manipulated everywhere I go. That’s why I like it here, I feel like I’m in charge for once.

One kid upstairs reading.

One kid arting downstairs quietly.

Listening the new LCD Soundsystem single.

Making some pasta.

Pretty nice evening. Not going to lie.

(And yeah, I said single. Because that's about how I expect the peace to last.)

You ever make some changes to your game in order to limit the cost of components only to drive yourself mad?

Cause I did and now I've been wallowing in misery trying to unwind back to where the fun was. 🎲✂️

Anyone playing Ara: History Untold?

I'm a little an hour in on the newest version (v1.1, dropped yesterday).

It's very welcome QoL updates. Graphics and performance seems snappier too.

It's been recommended I pick up a copy of Spirit Island.

Any recommendations for picking up already-loved copies of tabletop games?

If I can avoid eBay or at least find a reputable seller on there, that would be fantastic.

My 5 yo has been very into timing things this past week.

I asked her if we could time how long she can stay quiet for.

Her record is 9 of the longest, most agonizing seconds of her existence.
