I am pleased to announce that I have commandeered my neighbor's home. This home will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, to ensure it is used to benefit my neighbor and me! Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Trump’s team thought they could silence an astronaut and war hero with threats. They were WRONG.

Trump makes a deal with Maduro’s VP to pillage oil from their country in exchange for the Maduro regime remaining in power while Fox and Republicans continue to tell the Latino community that he is going to put Machado in power because he wants freedom & democracy in Venezuela.

Trump does whatever he wants, Republicans in Congress claim that they are unaware of everything he’s doing. and 6 Supreme Court justices overturn every court decision.

The Republic is broken.

"Two things have to happen in order for us to save the Republic from [Donald Trump]—first of all, accountability ... and the second is to pass laws and legislation within the four corners of the Constitution to make sure we never have this autocratic authoritarian threat again."

The argument is: We're all meant to sacrifice a bit, so that tariffs can help rebuild American manufacturing. Let's ask American manufacturers whether they're helping.

Chief Justice “Calvinball” Roberts has earned this ignominious place in American history, thanks to the incomparable Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson:
May this portion of the dissent by Ketanji Brown Jackson haunt John Roberts forever and be the final word on his tenure as Chief Justice.

This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

We fought the good fight from emoluments to impeachment to criminal prosecution but Congress failed us and the Supreme Court has been fully complicit. We must keep invoking the lower courts’ fidelity to law but will need massive political mobilization.

I miss having a compassionate president too. To go from that to a president whose policies are actually CRUEL in such a short time is difficult to absorb.
I miss the days when we had a compassionate President. This was yesterday at the funeral of Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her Husband. (and their dog too 😢)

Meanwhile, the current "president" spent his day golfing and making sure no disabled people are seen at his events.

Actually what Americans just saw today was a prominent Republican US Senator announce he is quitting because he knows this budget is going to hurt millions of people and he was repeatedly threatened by the president and his cult for telling the truth about it.

So as the 250th anniversary of the US approaches, we have not only a president who wants to be a king but an Imperial Judiciary. And it doesn't help that the 6 Imperial justices and the would-be king appear to be lacking in judgment, compassion, & anything that approximates wisdom.
I’ve been warning against an Imperial Judiciary for years now! As @stevevladeck.bsky.social wrote today, “the more the Supreme Court . . . does whatever it wants, whenever it wants,” the more it’s betting its future legitimacy (and our republic) on public support for an Omnipotent but Fallible Nine
