It’s worrying that folks on the left celebrate secret, unchecked, govt (and military) power
I think it’s bc crypto folks talk decentralization, and crypto has become right coded. And so any checks on govt power read right-coded

I don’t know if Snowden was a Russian asset anymore than you do, but what he did was brave and good.
He documented pervasive unchecked surveillance and govt power, and is a huge reason the web is (mostly) encrypted and we have even the (tatters of ) privacy we do on the web
