Stop producing so much plastic; then shift to reusable and refillable systems. If reusable packaging is not possible shift to paper, cardboard, glass, or metal. Companies, who will not do this on their own, must be required. It's the only way to ensure people are prioritized over plastic.

I wonder if the United States can learn anything from the last time a major industrialized country decided to isolate itself from the rest of the world?
