I remember flying from Reykjavik to Portland a couple years ago and being told by the flight attendant to close my window. What? You expect me to not stare out the window in wonder as we fly over Greenland and northern Canada?

What Americans identify as "leftist" today, is just a Democrat of the Carter era. When they say liberal, they mean a Clinton or Obama. Meanwhile, the Democrat party just keeps chasing Republicans to the right. All the while, our leftists barely clear the center line.

Fast forward some years later, and the word "leftists" came up. Those evil leftists. As I've learned more about international politics, it's dawned on me what this truly reflects. Joe Biden was barely left of George Bush, and there are plenty of Democrats today that are more conservative than him.

Which is certainly valid. The resistance really isn't much different from people being cash holdouts. I'm not opposed to it, I just don't care for being in the middle of SG Olympics, breaking to eat, and MMN3 telling me to scan the QR code to pay for pizza.

My unwillingness to pay using programs like Venmo or Apply Pay is probably my most Boomer trait.
