Just a queer-owned, decentralized book shop asking you to let us exist peacefully.

Hey! We are a nonbinary-owned bookstore, and we create pocket shops featuring underrepresented voices inside inclusive spaces. Our locations are currently all in New Orleans, but we hope to have shops everywhere one day! Support a local, queer-owned shop:

Ever walked into a bookstore and felt like the queer section was basically one shelf and a dream? Yeah. Same.

Queer folks deserve better than breadcrumbs. We need a place where we're not a footnote — we're the main character.

ALL OF THIS PLEASE STOP GIVING HER MONEY
Do not give this woman a dime of your money.
1. Do not watch the new show.
2. Do not stream any of the movies (yes, that includes Fantastic Beasts)
3. Do not buy any of her books. She has a pen name Robert Galbraith.

If you're looking for summer book recs, you can get them from an actual person if you email or message us! Happy to curate real books instead of whatever bizarre fake stuff this is. Email [email protected] for recs or ask us to curate a summer reading box for you!
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

Indie Bookstore Day is tomorrow! Come support an indie bookstore that: is queer owned, focuses on diverse reads, speaks out against genocide, and is staffed by actual, real people who love books and are not billionaires!

This is a highly important case. If this goes in favor of the parents (and it likely will), it will lead to quiet censorship because it's way too onorous for schools to implement an opt out plan. This will lead to queer books disappearing from classrooms.
The Supreme Court will rule on whether parents have a religious right to withdraw their children from class on days when storybooks with gay and transgender themes are discussed.

Super excited to meet Sarah Gailey! They're the author of Upright Women Wanted, which is one of the two books that inspired our current business model. Gailey was SO supportive of the bookstore, and it was so wonderful to meet them!

I'd be a terrible fantasy hero because unless I get a text, I wouldn't even know I was the chosen one, and even then, I'd probably ignore it. Also, as soon as they said "we ride at dawn" I'd be like cool, I'm out.

Whether they like it or not, it's still Black History Month. Google and billionaires be damned.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A fun romp!

The premise drew me in, and the well drawn secondary characters kept me around. Tons of action, some romance, some fun, badass queer characters, and plot driven, which are my favorite kinds of books. (Con.)

I'm Candice, owner of Tubby & Coo's. I'm nonbinary, witchy, have invisible disabilities, and neurodivergent. My favorite genre is fantasy, but I also love plot-driven sci-fi, weird horror, and a good romance subplot. Cozy fantasy will get me to read it every time.
