This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

This is a highly important case. If this goes in favor of the parents (and it likely will), it will lead to quiet censorship because it's way too onorous for schools to implement an opt out plan. This will lead to queer books disappearing from classrooms.
The Supreme Court will rule on whether parents have a religious right to withdraw their children from class on days when storybooks with gay and transgender themes are discussed.

Super excited to meet Sarah Gailey! They're the author of Upright Women Wanted, which is one of the two books that inspired our current business model. Gailey was SO supportive of the bookstore, and it was so wonderful to meet them!

I'd be a terrible fantasy hero because unless I get a text, I wouldn't even know I was the chosen one, and even then, I'd probably ignore it. Also, as soon as they said "we ride at dawn" I'd be like cool, I'm out.
