I mean, it feels that way because it is. The entire point of physical media is that you control it.
You don't need the company's permission/network to enjoy it for as long as you want.

Honestly the only real hard part for me to deal with was suspending the disbelief that was "how do you not HEAR THEM!?" when a walker manages to get the drop on someone.
It was heartbreaking seeing Dale go down like that.

I'm trying to enjoy it through the lens of when it came out because it's what made zombies truly popular again. There's a lot of interesting characters that are just now starting to develop (Daryl and Carol are the big ones for me).
Honestly what stopped me from finishing before was not having AMC.
