"Where are the protests now?" OMG, shut up. Like they aren't going to drag anyone black protesting away and jam them up in a for-profit prison system to make up for the (meagerly) paid labor they're losing. Like we haven't seen Ferguson protestors die off one-by-one. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
Deaths of six men tied to Ferguson protests alarm activists
The six deaths drew attention on social media and speculation among activists that something sinister was at play.

you guys really really hate young people. that's okay (or like, it's not, but it is what it is)! just say it out loud and be honest, and stop pretending you're engaging in principled thinking or a real critique

One basic point is that Congress has not authorized such a program, and could easily decide to pull the plug on it. The DOGE messaging is employees can get paid to watch Netflix all day. So much efficiency! Why would Congress fund this?

This @melissagiragrant.com piece takes on social media narratives about protesting ('why aren't people in the streets?'), and highlights the fact that many communities have BEEN protesting, never STOPPED protesting, are ALWAYS fighting for their lives.
The #Resistance Lives. It Just Looks Different This Time.
Defying mainstream media narratives about the exhausted opposition, protests are picking up in D.C. and across the country, led by protesters who never hung up their placards to begin with.

I heard from quite a few federal employees as the OPM deferred resignation offer deadline hits. It's probably illegal, probably won't work, and is still not really clear in its mechanics anyway. Very, very few of them are even considering it.

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

I used the word riot and became a villain today. I hope I made Marsha proud, I didn't even have to throw a brick. A black woman's anger is more powerful than anything.

Being a biracial American sucks. Being not white or not black enough, outcast by both sides for not conforming the way they expect you too, having cptsd from all the microgressions, from the confusion of where I fit, who is safe, what am I....

Until someone can amplify and empower zillennial voices and give them hope, there is no one to fight long term. As a generation I truly believe we are done dealing with the cards we've been dealt and would rather lay down than fight because we've never been allowed to breathe.

With war on both a civil and global scale so close, very few care to sacrifice themselves for any cause.... We are young, sick, tired, and burnout. That's what everyone seems to not understand, young adults don't care to fight anymore, our voices have been muted since the beginning
February 2, 2025 at 5:13 AM
And now we have to fight? Are you kidding, they took everything from us, we didn't even get to graduate college, or start careers and now we have to watch wwIII unfold, lose what little rights we did have, and watch as our government becomes the laughing stock of the world again.

What many don't understand is that all the 20 somethings are tired. Most of us have not fully recovered from covid still, a lot of us are disabled or mentally unwell from the pandemic still... A lot of us can't keep or obtain jobs or housing, we have never had a chance to "function" as young adults.

Corporate leaders who were fine with Trump sadistically imposing mass suffering on vulnerable groups as long as they got their tax cuts deserve every last bit of what this madman is now unleashing on them with these tariffs. Assholes.

Canadians booing the U.S. national anthem isn’t something I ever thought I’d see, but this is what happens when you let a psychopath criminal with isolationist and protectionist policies back into the White House.
