This 1939 government map about the Public Works Administration has been rattling through my brain recently. The PWA projects are such a fixture in American life that people don't even realize they're all around us.

It's a mixture of mourning and nostalgia, but mostly the latter. People can be good.

To be fair, the gal has lived her life in the spotlight - even in her formative years, she was famous. And, to her credit, she seems to have come out of it fairly normal, all things considered...she either hasn't had any super weird problems, or she's covered 'em up well enough.

F-350s, Chevy/GMC 3500s, Dodge 3500s are the smallest medium duty. Basically, duallies or the type of truck you'd see as an ambulance or something...anything from that on up to semis/lorries.

Actually it did begin with a parade of tanks

NEW: The militarization of American cities isn’t happening with a parade of tanks. It’s a slow drip of troop deployments that are probing courts’ willingness to give unlimited deference to the commander in chief — and testing workarounds when they don’t.

As of this typing, there's only 1 comment blaming IPAs. I was wrong.

Haven't read the comments yet, but I'd be willing to bet there's at least 2 comments blaming IPAs for the failure of craft breweries

...and beyond the point. That's right - at the ripe old age of 16, I was all on board with "wall of separation between church and state" because I didn't want the government telling my church what to do.

I have since learned the error of my adolescent ways and have seen the forest through the...

I had a rant about this as far back as high school, fresh out of my confirmation classes in high school - I don't care (didn't care then) about gay people getting married; the legal union and all the benefits contained therewithin are the important bits. Whether or not a church is involved is far...

I don't want to call anyone a dullard or simpleton, but my entire extended family votes Republican because they're "supposed" to, and any sort of political discussion is them softly justifying to themselves why they vote R; any criticism is hushed so they don't have to challenge their thoughts

Haven't been able to talk to my older relatives in over a decade about politics - the discussion always gets shut down immediately if *any* differing opinions get brought up. It's made it so that, as my older relatives get older, I don't feel like I know them; their hopes, dreams, or fears.

Deep in this Michigan copper mine, is a place only about 30 people have stepped in the last 100 years. A place still marked by the footprints of the miners who walked out more than a century ago.

Recently, I got to go down there. It was, honestly, incredible.
