Remember when Anett Kontaveit made the tail end of the season in 2021 worth watching?

Or at least she did for me.

Or when Felix Auger-Aliassime went on that run at the end of 2022?

Something like that would make the end of this season more intriguing to watch.

The tour isn’t exciting right now….

The stars aren’t delivering and the randoms aren’t dynamic enough to care.

It’s like every-time someone gets some shine, they suck the next three tournaments.

Amanda A is cool but uninteresting, and the only one showing up.

I can’t be the only person looking at these draws at the tournaments in Shanghai & Wuhan and feeling like they’re….blah?

Am I missing the spark in the tennis or are the tours actually missing a bit of spark right now?

There should only be indoor tournaments during October and November.

Seems cruel to have players look physically depleted during this time of the year when they’ve already played through 10 months and 4 grand slams

This one has to feel good for Jerry Shang.

Coming into Shanghai with a 1-5 record since his return to the tour in July, the 20yo scores the biggest win of his career.

Shang gets past Karen Khachanov, 7-6³, 6-3, to notch his first top 10 victory at home. 💪👐

True. All of those are factors. But Tabilo also beat Musetti to get that third. I think it’s telling of just a little something about Musetti for right now. Especially on hard courts. Which the tour plays on for months now until April again basically

Alejandro Tabilo and Alexander Bublik both have more career titles on the ATP Tour than Lorenzo Musetti, yet Musetti is the one who’s actually cracked the top 10 in the world rankings.

He definitely said he would need to get them sometime after the U.S. Open, but I hadn't seen any reporting that he did in fact get them.

I wouldn't think Laver Cup would be a priority if you're struggling like this.
