Blood on the Clocktower has barely any player feedback.

It withholds the feedback cycle in service of creating a curated "bluffing space" where it's unclear what, out of several possible game states, actually happened.

Instead it's a mystery for you to solve.

It's the coolest thing ever!

"Players as actors in theatre" is such a fascinating topic, reblogging for more people to see!

(Pathologic is where I first encountered the concept and it felt like scratching the surface)
Ah! As this was also my PhD area if you want any book recommendations to explore your ideas further lmk! A minimum would be Brenda Laurel’s Computers as Theatre, Steve Dixon’s Digital Performance, and Artificial Hells by Claire Bishop 💜

It's kinda wild how we had the Shareware Scene, which was our equivalent of the Doujin scene, but everything there got gobbled up and folded and basically became the companies we have making AAA games now. You got recruited, or pushed out, so there is this big "culture" gap

This was really beautiful and heartfelt. I don't think I've seen a coming of age that depicts digital communication better than this

being Performatively bad or edgy is annoying too. being yourself is how you get something real even if it means struggling at first. If youre not used to being yourself starting to do it for the first time could feel awkward or fake or scary at first but when you get the hang of it it's rewarding

For us, an ideal choice in a game twists your form and holds you up against a mirror, reflecting a part of your person that you haven't seen in the light of day.

There are no right choices. No wrong choices. Only fresh perspectives.

Scarlet Hollow and Slay the Princess are a combined 35% off.

Looking for Playtesters for our student game!

Spend 20-30m in a Co-op FPS shooter with 2 other teammates in dark fantasy Venice. Doesn't that sound nice?

Flexible times, you can find a party in our discord: discord.gg/RW7HYhFHWf

a major issue with video games is that they produce a bunch of people who consider themselves brain geniuses for solving problems that were designed to be solvable. as a remedy, we should be making more games that are actively and irreconcilably hostile to the player. thank you

Big buck Backshots: 3.8/5

This one stood out in the FPS new releases.

It feels like such an alpha game. It’s psycho-sexual violence with a perversion of the food chain, you playing as a hunter while being an elk too. In that sense, it feels deeply wrong.

Of all the nextfest demo's, none grew on me more than Respaced. What I dismissed as a 2/5 was actually a 4/5 in disguise. #respaced #nextfest #gamresresearchlog
