rfk jr went through a whole health-focused presidential campaign and hhs secretary confirmation process with no mainstream outlet reporting that he believes, as stated in a book he wrote 4 years ago, that diseases are caused by evil clouds rising up from swamps and rotting garbage

Forgive the earnest post here, but one year ago this week, Global Tetrahedron took over The Onion. We've since brought back the paper and ONN, dramatically increased revenue, and hired more writers and artists.

But most importantly, as other places debased themselves, we refused to bend the knee.

Donald Trump's flurry of pathetic, deranged posts this morning proves once again—that’s all he’s got.

Republicans in Congress might still be scared of his mean tweets, but the rest of the world is laughing at him.

3 days ago RFK Jr. told the CDC to stop recommending water fluoridation, claiming it was a neurotoxin (this is a lie).

Turns out he also just eliminated the CDC’s entire Lead Program, and now lead poisoned children in Milwaukee are just on their own. Lead IS a neurotoxin and harms brain development
CDC denies help for lead poisoning in Milwaukee schools due to layoffs
The CDC rejected a request for help "due to the complete loss" of their lead poisoning experts.

How DOGE used Social Security data to push dubious fraud claims

How DOGE may have improperly used Social Security data to push voter fraud narratives
A DOGE staffer working in the Social Security Administration has been pushing questionable claims about noncitizens voting — apparently using data that court records suggest DOGE shouldn't have.

WHY IS ZELENSKY NOT WEARING A SUIT?

(I am joking. What a relief it must be for him to be among friends again. If anyone ever deserved a hug, it is that man)

They had JD Vance there next to Trump because Zelenskyy would have completely destroyed Trump solo — Trump is too weak and slow and frail now.

And even 2-on-1, Zelenskyy still won.

I had the privilege of talking to @apnews.com about WIRED's Elon Musk and politics coverage.

Most important thing: We're not slowing down, we're not stopping, and we're going to cover this story, relentlessly, for as long as we need to.

Not known for political coverage, Wired takes a leading role in tracking Elon Musk's team
The tech outlet Wired set up a new politics team in time for the presidential election — but its most impactful work is coming after the election is over.

New piece from me @goodauth.bsky.social on why Riyadh talks were very bad, why Rubio's appt was doomed from the start, and why U.S. diplomacy is in crisis (hint: giving away the store is not diplomacy). To paraphrase @dandrezner.bsky.social, I wrote sharper today. goodauthority.org/news/why-hig...
U.S. diplomacy is in crisis.
U.S. diplomacy in Europe and Marco Rubio's bilateral talks with Russia aren't really about ending the war in Ukraine, or a lasting peace.
