One of my favorite NES games. Sad there isn't an easy way to play this game anymore. I knew it was part of the Xanadu/Dragon Slayer series but didn't know why it had "Fa" in front. I think Faxanadu is the only Xanadu game I played. Xanadu Next and Tokyo Xanadu ex+ are in the backlog.

It is also on the Switch. You have to have NSO Expansion Pack to play it.

#GameFinishes 2026 - 10

A very cute puzzle game about making bento boxes. You get a picture on the right side and try to figure out how to put in the ingredients to create that image. (1/2)

Like good puzzles games it does a very good job teaching you what the special ingredients do in the beginning of each world (9 puzzles per world and 14 worlds) and near the end of worlds 10+ some of those puzzles got very tricky. If you like puzzles games, this is an easy game to recommend. (2/2)

2026 January Other Games Played

After beating LaD Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name I was jumping around trying out games or seeing how some I played before on other systems play on the Deck.

In February I plan finishing at least Emio: The Smiling Man, Inbento and Judgment.

AI: The Somnium Files
#GameFinishes 2026 - 9

This game was created by the same person of the Zero Escape series. I liked that series and have been wanting to play the AI games for awhile. I enjoyed AI's story and plan on playing the sequels. (1/2)

AI has great voice acting but be careful playing this around kids, the creator of these games likes to add sex stuff in it. The main story took about 23 hours but I had the game crash on me 5 times on the Steam Deck, at least you don't lose much progress. I took another 2 hours to 100% it. (2/2)

The 2nd is the best but I did like the twist for the 3rd game. Hopefully you get around to it one did.

I started replaying VLR but then jumped to AI: The Somnium Files since a few of the others in the backlog haters club started it before February. I'm almost done with that one.

After reading the last line of your post you got Billy Joel's "We Didn’t Start the Fire" stuck in my head now 🤣

Enjoy your 40s!! It is amazing how fast time flies.

I sometimes feel that way too but there are a few odd ones out there I missed. I used the Ouya for my post.

Other odd ones I could have used are: CD-i, Playdate, WonderSwan & WS Color, Neo Geo Pocket & NGP Color, TurboExpress, Sega Nomad.

With add-on then 32X, Atari Jaguar CD

I bought an Evercade because of the Intellivision collections and got hooked. Evercade is great for retro/indie/homebrew games. It also got me interested in the Atari VCS (2021) which was funded through Indiegogo. I didn't back it but I did buy one post launch.

I'm also looking at the PlayDate.

I like the idea of unique consoles released by smaller companies.

The Ouya was a neat idea I didn't back the project.

I did back the Intellivision Amico (funded through Intellivision preorder site) but that failed to come out.

After the failure I looked into ones that already released.

It was a KickStater console. I know someone that has it but passed on playing it.

With Xeno X finally getting ported, the main reason to get one is gone. I enjoyed Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, hopefully Nintendo figures out a way to port that to the Switch someday. I played Paper Mario Color Splash last year and enjoyed it but it isn't worth buying a Wii U for.
