🦇 What is a roost? Here are some bat roost facts:

🪹 Bats do not make nests, but choose various places throughout the year to shelter, live and sleep in.
🦇 Where bats choose to roost varies between species and the time of the year.
📍 They don't stay in the same roost the whole year.

🌳Have you spotted any strange-looking bulbous blotches in oak trees recently? These are #leafgalls, a growth on a plant that is made of plant tissue but caused by (and controlled by!) another organism, such as insects.

🍂Now is the the perfect time to spot them like the Oak Spangle Gall! Seen any?

Earlier this month, our team spotted Marsh Arrowgrass (Triglochin palustris) during a #LocalWildlifeSite survey near Crawley. While not particularly rare, this species can be tricky to identify until it flowers or fruits — making this a lovely find!
