sorry this should have read "use _that_ to sign the service JWT" - this will only be accepted because you've updated the verificationMethod of the DID document:

It can! It certainly won't without your permission, but the "Identities" button on the left will let you create a recovery key for your PLC profile and install it as a "rotation key" - you'll need to save the private key in 1password or something but we give you a relatively safe way to do that.

Sometimes I think I should live in NYC someday, but honestly, a place that chose to be governed by this absolute nightmare of a blunt rotation is just not a place whose “issues” I’d like to get involved with. The Bay has its problems but compared to this we are a paragon of good governance.

is it though?! everything here is super consistent with being a weirdo cop - the careful optics, the attempts to look cool, the deep and enduring corruption - the guy is like a case study in bumbling copaganda and grift.
