(The in-universe justification for the name is a little less silly, where "Ultramar" is supposed to mean "beyond the sea [of stars]" or similar, but I would bet real money that the Ultrasmurfs' color scheme is the Doylist explanation for their name)

So this is basically like streaming for videogames, or doujins for anime/manga, but for Disney IPs? I.e. encouraging users to commit what's technically copyright violations in exchange for a cheap way to keep interest in an IP?

Side note, what is it about philosophy bachelors doing well career-wise? Does a bachelor in philosophy equip its graduates unusually well for the work force, or do philosophy bachelors tend to be well connected either before or during college?

I think it's this, yeah. The people who think the incident was a war crime/morally evil view soldiers who retreat as if they're in those scenes from war movies, where the soldier is fleeing because he's completely and utterly broken, in total panic, a danger to no one except maybe himself

I think this is probably a composition effect: to a first approximation you have to be ~50th percentile right-wing to be a white GOP voter, or perhaps even 40th, whereas you have to be like 90th percentile right wing to be a Black GOP voter

I wish we could build one but I have no idea where to even begin. Where did our previous apparatuses of public virtue come from, how was it built, and how was it destroyed? Could those methods be replicated today, or will we need a new solution to our current problem?
