For more than ten years I’ve kept loose batteries in a metal tin, and yesterday evening I opened it and two of them were red hot, and I thought oh dear, that’s not good, and I looked up whether you should keep batteries in a metal tin, and let’s say I’m glad that I’m not long dead in a house fire.

Does anyone know how you wire a Vaillant 3-wire kit to something like a VR66? My plumber never bothered to install the latter and I have a 3 wire kit doing nothing and the current setup just bluntly kills the power to pump and boiler all at once when demand is gone.

My heating is stuck on (due to a relay welded on in Nest Heatlink). I've manually set the boiler flow temp to 33 degrees. This will be interesting to see how comfortable the house is and how much it costs me in gas compared to the 65 degree flow temp it was on before.

Reading this I can't help but feel this is more smart meter fear mongering. They claim it was costing someone £5 to boil the kettle. I think what was happening was the display was showing it costing £5/hr at the current rate when the kettle was on. inews.co.uk/inews-lifest...
