UK based PHP developer. Husband, father. I love cars, motorcycles and F1. Consistently on the losing side politically 😂
If you earn £100,000 a year, and get £500 in interest, even though that £500 is tax free, does the income over £100,000 remove £250 of your tax free allowance?

Lovely thanks for getting back to me.

Blimey! I'd instantly be muting any company wide channel.

I'll keep my eye out. This looks right up my street 😀

Got a link to YouTube music? I think I found it but the last episode there was from October.

It was Trump repeating Putin's (false) rhetoric on the invasion that triggered it, but it could have easily covered several of the other batshit insane things that have happened in the last month.

He used the CC1101 to read the signal from the remote. No idea how he figured it out; but I remember him saying "I'm sure this is using manchester encoding" and it was well over my head.

My dad recently used a CC1101 to reverse engineer the radio control of his blinds, using MQTT to get it into home assistant. I'm sure he'll confirm that trying to figure it all out was indeed very difficult.

Keeping the Nest keeps the system wife-friendly 😂

I'm thinking of embarking on a bit of big project. Get a pi or something talking to Nest through opentherm, and then have an ESP talking to the boiler via ebus and get proper weather compensated heating going rather than the dumb on/off I have now.

Quite a lot I need to figure out on this.

Second observation: if you hit a Nest Heatlink about where the relay is with a hammer with an appropriate amount of force you can unstick the relay. This is one of the few times where hitting it with a hammer has been more effective than hitting it with my wallet.

I saw a follow up on another news site. The problem was a billing mistake where they'd applied the peak rate to the off-peak meter. Not actually anything to do with the smart meter itself.

First observation: if I had a modulated weather compensation setup my boiler would be too big. It can't modulate down to the lower flow temp.

I hadn't thought about looking at my flue temp. I must get my thermal camera back off my Dad.

In the other article this references, they claim the problem was a CT clamp on the wrong way around. I'm not an expert but I fail to see how that's plausible. This is bullshit isn't it?
