Of course, they'll get hacked now and then and thousands will lose everything with no recourse. You still have to buy license keys for games and software, but almost all of that will be on a subscriptions basis as well.

It will be region locked and disallow you from installing a VPN. You can't uninstall any of it and you don't get to set permissions or use command line at all. The companies that own the servers can see everything, so you have no privacy.

Eventually the box will be built into the monitor, like Roku TVs. You can use it like a physical computer but you own nothing. You subscribe for a license to use cloud PCs and you don't get to customize much. It will be absolutely packed with ads, bloatware, AI crap.
