i had a really promising mage going, but i was mysteriously killed by a single shot which did 41+ HP of damage. what do elven priests even have which can achieve that? that's Angband for you.

Slight refinement:
C code that defines U+2560 BOX DRAWINGS DOUBLE VERTICAL AND RIGHT to be equivalent to closing brace and U+2563 BOX DRAWINGS DOUBLE VERTICAL AND LEFT to be equivalent to open brace, followed by a (slightly buggy) FizzBuzz if/else if/else chain where the blocks are rendered as connected boxes.
