I found Lake Louise now affordable. However, based on your location, I understand. And I totally agree. Utah is out of control, too.

I was able to do so with vacation time and salary but not with FERS. I suspect because you can't change when things vest?

It's so much fun to make our own stock. You can mix it up and infuse aromatics. Like lemongrass and cinnamon for Vietnamese style. Or ginger and five spice for Chinese. Or parsley stems for Italian.

I often wonder how many more colleagues might come in if the US had health insurance guarantees. Or if we just didn't live in total lawlessness?

Oh, totally agree. One of the reasons I say and keep speaking (and taking the heat from higher ups) is to keep fighting for my friends who can't. It's very awful how job lock is real with health insurance in this country.

That didn't happen. I know him personally. He was about 18 months short of it. For those who did accrue the full 20 years, the funds likely aren't immediately available because so many HR RIFs occurred. I know filed the paperwork right after the furlough, and there is still a backlog.
