This is where I think there's parallels to the '83 crash. E.T. performed reasonably fine, but Atari invested so much into it that anything other than the biggest game ever would be a failure by *their* metrics! That's not the game's problem, that's management's problem

Our first date was to a local amusement park. We have tried to do so every year after, though there are times where it hasn't been feasible.
It's much better than our first get together, which ended up with us at a completely terrible movie that we somehow stayed to the end of.
