Even if only 10% of Republicans are disillusioned with Trump, that’s enough to make some huge impacts in November. I have a feeling the number is higher than that.

I keep seeing stories of children suffering in detention facilities at the border while waiting for CBP to vet them. Sometimes for weeks at a time. Why is it so hard for us to do this humanely? Is it a money thing? Or are we just hiring the wrong people to do this work?

Seeing the opposite as well. I’ve been afraid to say it all week but I don’t like seeing guns at protests. Pretti made me realize though that carrying for self-defense looks different from carrying for intimidation, and it’s only the latter that seems to conflict with “peaceful assembly.”

The lies definitely took this to a new level. If they had just put these guys on administrative leave and “waited for the facts” we’d be yelling about something else right now.

It definitely has the ‘cadence’ of AI but I’m not finding any reason to doubt it beyond that. CNN reported that a member of Pretti’s family confirmed that it was him - not sure if that’s the same as confirming that it happened.

Isn’t it premature to be saying things like this? Shouldn’t we wait to see how the midterms go before declaring that democracy is dead? I’m not refuting the fact that Trump is a fascist, but I’m not sold on this idea that he has 2026 locked up already.
