From the very same Tumblr you’ve probably never heard of. Did not post in Twitter because shit was a cesspool. My ass only used Twitter to follow journalists. Art courtesy of Nikolas Draper Ivey.

…Are they really trying to do Roman Reigns vs CM Punk at Wrestlemania? That’s really the main event match? Naw, you got to be kidding.

They wouldn’t sign Trey Miguel for a homophobic tweet. You really think they will sign AJ Styles?

And getting cheered. You like the character? Fine. But you aren’t supposed to like the character doing that at the expense of the minority involved. The criticism here is that the character hasn’t evolved and the person needs to read the fucking room.

And there is the misogyny. I don’t give a shit if he is a heel because no one in AEW has to resort to rampant misogyny but MJF. No heel. Not Kyle Fletcher, Omega as champ, Mox, Callis. And yet after that unapproved promo against Swerve, AEW social felt the need to create a comp of MJF doing it

It takes some awareness to know who your audience is. And AEW’s live audience is predominantly white and or male and American. Do not, as a heel, go for racism against the babyface who is a person of color. And MJF has a pension of doing it.

Point is that the character goes for the lowest common denominator to get himself over the babyface. If MJF, the wrestler, can’t organically create heat, he will manufacture it based on the opponent’s attributes. That’s why that Swerve Promo towards him was meta.Noone gains anything working with him

Fourth but non racial example, MJF vs Ospreay. MJF starts touting his being American and Ospreay being British as a way to get the crowd to turn against Ospreay. This led to weeks of Ospreay having to explain that he loves America and still be a babyface.
February 1, 2026 at 6:41 PM
Third example, JBL vs Rey Mysterio. JBL uses the then and still hot bed issue of US Immigration to shame Rey and “his people.” At this point, the US sentiment was very conservative towards the issue. So crowd slowly turns on Rey, not helped by the fact that Rey was losing semi regularly as champ.

Another example, Triple H vs Booker T. Booker is a face looking to win his first title. Triple H uses racial innuendo to describe why Booker isn’t ready for this title and it’s above him. Crowd doesn’t give a shit so they cheer for Triple H.

Here is an example of this: Kurt Angle vs Booker T.

Booker T is the face. Kurt Angle screams all of types of obscenities at Booker’s wife saying that he wants to have jungle sex with her. Crowd doesn’t give a fuck because they love Kurt Angle regardless. They cheer him for his racism.

Again. His character that he plays is the issue. Also Max, the wrestler, was caught up saying the most pro-Zionist shit during the middle of the Gaza genocide, and only apologized after the perception started to change.

I am judging the character on his promos. The character needs to die as long as the wrestler keeps wanting to be the cool heel and burying babyfaces. He has terrible instincts.

Again, he got the crowd chanting Take-A-Shit-Uh at Take for half a year. He associated Swerve with Diddy.

And the World Champion is a racist misogynist incel caricature who is generally a bad idea for black wrestlers to feud against. 2 steps forward, 1 step back.
February 1, 2026 at 2:38 PM
He is going to be elevated to a main title feud to pad out MJF’s title run until All In.
