In a recent paper, we support a systems approach to address barriers to support for families experiencing intimate partner violence and mental health problems. There is a need to address the gap between child mental health and domestic abuse services www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
There was really high missing data in CSDS. From government statistics, we know that 79% of 2 years olds have this measure of child development collected but only 15% of children in CSDS had this data in their record.
86% of 2y olds met expected level of development with inequalities across groups.
This is important for the Government's commitment to increasing the proportion of children 'ready to learn' at age 4-5 years.
We looked at the ASQ®-3 measure of child development collected at age 2-2½ years by health visiting teams and available at a national level in the Community Services Dataset CSDS).
Feb 2025: Recent work finds support for young people with chronic conditions is highly variable with caregivers and young people often unaware of what is available. We highlight a need for clarity in government guidance. continuityineducation.org/articles/10....
