The smaller half of GongSpa. My life is Gongs, Da Bears, coffee, knitting and all the vegetables. I also hoard books, am learning German, love to walk, sew, Nalbind, origami, going charity shopping, and draw. There is not enough time.
I rarely use DK but I found some Sirdar Silky Look balls in the RSPCA shop- I started Drops Diamonds Vest pattern then went rogue 😏 I think it’s going to be a halter neck vest, perhaps a dress- if I can get past the bust darts! #ShowMeYourKnits #knit 🧶

Had a lovely little getaway in Norfolk. Great Saturday night hanging with friends and catching up over some knitting. Smitten with this jumper my friend is working on. Even more smitten with her heavenly dog 😊 Knit details following.

Another version of the RukeKnits cardigan with cable inserts. I think I’ve knitted it about 7 times now 😊

#showmeyourknits These were knitted up from some beautiful old wool found in a charity shop. I often wear the leg warmers over the cardigan sleeves for snuggly walks. 🧶 #knitting The cardigan is loosely based on RukeKnit Puna cardigan pattern- very adaptable.

Ugly but done. Hoping it’ll sort itself out while I carry on knitting. I hope I don’t do that again.

I made a mistake. I will see it if I don’t fix it. I am not prepared to unpick the whole rows but I don’t know if I am up for the mental challenge of a spot repair. Goes to find crochet hooks, safety pins and some strong cups of coffee 😂 I anticipate strong bouts of swearing 😬

Tidying up my woolens before they get washed and stored for Winter. It’s a chilled job, just scissors. This was my first ever cardigan. I can see all the mistakes now the bobbles have been cleared 😬 (left)

Wool sorting day yesterday. This year everyone is getting socks for any occasion 😬 Our neighbours cat popped by to help 😍

My other WIP- we have a new baby in the family so having a go at cotton and pastel to suit parents. Cotton is hard! It looks like it’ll take a dryer though so hopefully practical. Wool- Kingcole baby bamboo and cotton- strands. Pattern- making it up 😬

Lazy morning in the garden. Current WIP, inspired by someone’s post here 😊 I love the pattern, was hard to get started but quickly understood and easy to pick up for a few minutes.

Pattern Pressed Flowers by Amy Christoffers on Ravellry. Wool- Yarnsmiths merino sock

I loved knitting this- Jaimesons 2 ply and fair isle is so relaxing. I need to figure out how to finish this hat. It will need lining because it’s wool and for a sensitive forehead. Open to guidance. I never use patterns and it shows 🤦🏻

Hand for scale. I think this was a moss stitch on two large but different needles. It doesn’t pull out or get caught on door handles (🤦🏻) but is very loose.

Trying to knit up a loose jumper in some wools I found in a charity shop. Fingers crossed.

Phew! My partners B’day and the secret knitted hat worked. I did knit two to cover options. Not easy when you live/work together 🤦🏻 🧶 #Knitting

I don’t usually use garter stitch so weighing up how to block. It’s so stretchy. Do you pull it out? I used Malabrigo Sock- it’s very soft.

I made this last time I was swamped by wool. I combined mixed wools/cottons together and knitted up in moss stitch then felted in the machine. It was supposed to be a rug but I liked it too much so it’s in our sofa. It’s a good way to use up the everyday wools.

I love my mini hoard of creative books. 😊

I have just been thinking about this after looking through some Patricia Robert’s knitting books from the 80’s. The stripy bits under the arms are gussets. I hadn’t seen it before.
