At this point, high taxes, social instability, unions, regulatory costs, and overpopulation have made living in America so expensive that only the elite suburbs are nice, but cost of living is a lot higher there.
Here's some actual data for the proposition that Philadelphia is America's most affordable big city, which is even more impressive as it's in the Northeast corridor lit up in red below. taxfoundation.org/data/all/sta...
