As the internet's No. 1 Airborne hater, this is a really good move. The Army's jump fetish has been bad for its internal culture and bad for its ability to think seriously about what war with an actual opponent looks like.

The positions will remain airborne billets, but soldiers will no longer be required to maintain jump status or receive jump pay.
