Wanted:

A few days ago I saw stats about “for every dollar spent on an NSF grant, there’s ____ economic impact on communities” or something

I need that stat for an open letter for scientists and now can’t find it.

Also similar stats for EPA, NOAA, NIH grants etc would be useful here. 🧪

Hey Community, I'm looking for some advice and suggestions. This is a summary of what I would like to put on the back cover of a philosophical work that's in the works. Does this peek anybody's interest? Also please comment on some suggestions for how you think I should go about this.

Stay informed...
NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold.

We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940.

2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

Check this out, the big news companies haven't said it yet but #mexico has sent firefighters to help with the #wildfires in #california. This isn't the first time they have showed that they can put differences aside and help those in need. As an American I can say we never ask for help, so thanks

Saw this today and it made me think about how old this issue of corporate interference in politics really is. I was born at 368ppm (1999) so it's still shocking to see that these same points were argued over decades ago...how do we make it so that this time we don't lose ourselves.

Another excerpt, looking for feedback. This is from the perspective of a being who is seen as a god but refuses to see himself that way. An eternal battle of egos. My whole book is based on this idea but this is a small part. If anybody can give advice on how to enhance the imagery, please give it.

First post, kinda nervous...

I'm looking for advice to improve my writing skills. Can y'all give this a short read and maybe give me some tips on rhetorical devices that could portray a more in depth emotion or image? This an excerpt but I'm looking to encourage a painful awareness of the unknown.
