These missions bring their own challenges and can actually be very technical, and that's why our team love them so much. Here's an exemple with Waterfall Park, from Repos Production. We delivered concepts for the box art, and for the board itself.

This week, let's do something a bit different. By now, you might be familiar with our work both for the video game and the animation industries. But another regular type of partners are tabletop and board games companies.

Let's kickstart this new week with a bang!
This concept was created for our dear friends at Phoenix Labs, as they were exploring ideas for another project. Even if it's just a picture, you can feel the motion and the energy that our teams were trying to convey.

... a strong impact on our artists, starting with our art director. And while we love to mix things up and do different things, we are always super excited when tasked with the creation of something that is somehow connected with Japan.

One last time! This is the last post about that cancelled project, and today we have two differents views on an inhabited moutain. This time again, you can notice the japanese inspirations. As you may have guessed with the studio's name, the japanese culture as a whole has always had...

So in the past few days, we shared some splash arts and environment concepts from that cancelled project. Today, let's share some of what we did for one of the characters. From first concepts to final 3D renders, weapons and other props, this was a lot of fun for our team!
Colors testing for the character. Colors testing for the the "kitsune" mask worn by the character, on the top of her head. The mask's colors should match the character's outfit. 2D concept for the character's main weapon. Several 3D renders of the character holding a non-finished version of the weapon. Those are pretty useful to this if the weapons' propositions work well with the character, and how it would looks like on different poses (although there are only default poses here).

Here, you can see some of our first sketches, and then, here an above, the final result. It was a lot of fun!

As promised 2 days ago, here are some more pictures from that cancelled project we worked on for quite some time! As mentionned earlier, our mission wasn't limited to key arts. We did many things, including research, concept and final renders for a heavily Japan-inspired village.

From early 2D sketches to game-ready 3D assets, this was a great opportunity for us to showcase our team's depth and expertise.

These two pictures are just a first glance, stay tuned in the coming days for more !

Starting today and up until next week, we will be sharing several visuals we produced for a cancelled project that got us pretty busy!

So.
Based on our latest post you might have figured out that despite all her misdeed, it's not like we are actually mad at Bouddha.

Quite the opposite! The team has decided to pay a little tribute to Bouddha. These cosmetics will join many others in Graine with our next update!

For the past few weeks, Bouddah has been on a biting spree, assaulting many many cords. Seems like no external battery, no mouse, no keyboard, no pen display is safe from her savagery!
Another victim of Bouddah's savagery. That cord probably provoked the attack. At least that's what Bouddah would want us to believe.

A few months ago, the team asked if we could have a cat at the studio. After a few discussions, we eventually adopted this beautiful lady!
Please meet Bouddha. When she's not sunbathing in the patio, her main past time is to climb on the shoulders of her favorite humans. We love her. 😸

Quick snippet of some of the 3D concepts we did for the TV series Press Start!. Translating the visual style of Thomas Flintham's comics into the world of 3D was a real challenge, but it was fascinating.
A small vilage with a giant rainbow carrot in the middle of it. A small house in the moutains. With the sun going down, the whole tone is very pink. An airship flying above a massive canyon.

It seems like you kinda enjoyed our latest post, sharing several sketches for a cancelled project. So, as promised, here are some more. These ones focus on a big, mysterious forest. We were exploring colors, scales, trees' shapes and density, ligthing and the mood we wanted to set.
Two characters walking toward what looks like a house set at the feet of an enormous tree. The place looks a bit dark, probably because these giant trees hide it from sunlight. A mysterious character stares at a strange hill that seems to have been turned into some sort of house. A old, weird tree emerging from a waterfall. Elevated viewpoint on the forest. Even higher up from the ground, these trees look really big.

As you might have guessed, they weren't thrown away. And while we can't say which company we were working with, and what was that project, we sure can share some of our favorite sketches. This is obviously pretty raw, but it gives a good idea of what this world could have been.
A character walking through a pasture, in which two big cows can be seen. Some giant, really sharp stones are stuck in the ground, like they felt from the sky eons ago.

This is actually something rather common in the world of visual development, but it's always a bit sad for our artists. Nonetheless, today we are really happy to share with you some of those early sketches!
A single character walking on the mountainside.
