I am deeply saddened to share the loss of Rowell Huesmann on December 21st. Rowell and I worked together for many years, and he was a good friend and colleague. I will miss my conversations with him about research and life. We didn't agree on everything, but we could have good in-depth discussions.

There is plenty to be unhappy about in the budget reconciliation bill, but for someone who studies the importance of intergenerational education effects-losing the ability for low and middle class to have federal assistance to pay for college will have lasting generational effects

These are important points. Univ. of Michigan is the 3rd largest employer in Michigan. Due to stable jobs and good benefits, people with all educ. backgrounds have jobs. So do places UM buys from.
