At the @munsecconf.bsky.social, I stressed that when maritime chokepoints like the Red Sea are disrupted, the ripple effects on trade, food, and energy security are global.

Bold diplomacy, as we saw in the Black Sea Initiative, remains our best tool to keep sea lanes open and safe.

In today’s world, uncertainty is the highest tariff.

Predictability and cooperation are needed through reform, more regional agreements and stronger coalitions for a rules-based trade system.

Trade must reduce uncertainty, support development, and create a true win-win for all.
