The clear solution is to not generate any data.

In seriousness the issue is complex. JGI is also guilty of using data without attribution, despite asking (at least ours). IMO, data should be made public upon publication, regardless of how long it takes and referenced appropriately thereafter.

Neat paper!

Way back when, we speculated SAR11 could assimilate glycolate by oxidizing to glyoxylate and slapping an ammonia on it to produce glycine. Perhaps other taxa assimilate it similarly.

One of the biggest things I truly love about Arizona is that we do not partake in the clock tomfoolery twice a year.
pnas.org
Switching the clocks twice a year hurts Americans' health. A modeling study of county-level solar light patterns, time policy, health data, and circadian models suggests a permanent shift to Standard Time would reduce obesity and strokes. In PNAS: www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...
Switching from the United States’ current policy to Standard Time reduces overall obesity prevalence more than switching to Daylight Saving Time.

Yes. We preprint everything.

SO CLOSE to submitting our last paper that was started pre-pandemic!

What are folks using for calling genes these days in isolate genomes: PGAP, Bakta, or Prokka? This is for a 70% GC genome of a very novel lineage.
