Ideally this would have been the moment to shift course at least slightly towards a more equal society for reasons of self preservation alone
But since our elites can no longer imagine a world that's systematically any different They would rather bang their heads against the wall of reality forever

Ever since the 80's all ideological convictions beyond perpetuating the machine have been largely sandblasted off our establishment. And since that machine has always run on exploitation at all levels, it shifting towards straight up fascism once the myth of perpetual growth collapsed was inevitable

Meanwhile my Steam Deck has become the dedicated Indie machine my Switch 1 used to be. Just with a gigantic library and controllers made for human hands.

I don't think I've ever used a console less than my Switch 2. So far for 90% of its runtime it has been a Donkey Kong machine.
I just bought it at launch because I'm sure at some point Nintendo will release some games for it and I knew it would only get more expensive over time.
