I don't know if patience is always a virtue or not, but gardening offers constant reminders to not rush things, to move deliberately, at times slowly, to protect budding things, to nurture emergants.

The robins are making themselves seen, and so I decided to remove the top few inches from the large compost pile and allow the aves a chance to hunt worms.

Yesterday, we observed & celebrated International Women's Day (IWD) by reminiscing a past concert and attending a present-day concert.

Today is all about garden prep, including making room for chipmunks.

LMFAO. I was just reminded, by software notification of this, of this meme image I created on a lark because of an obscene amount of Cabralese($ & qty) I'd bought. Two years later, the image now works as a comment on egg prices. Holy shit... my eyes... watery with laughter.

A UU sanctuary performs double duty & serves as a listening room for Green Guitar Folk House. What a place to wonder if angels exist, wonder if they wander here & attend to affairs of men and women. If they do, then they ascend again on path stones constructed from the voices of The Vogts Sisters ✌️🫶

I look forward to returning to ATX. Look forward to a doughnut. I continue to appreciate this branded packaging!! ✌️🫶

Some would label this post's image as vice. Oddly, Bluesky only allows me to self-label it as graphic content or as adult-type content. Bsky's attitudinal & behavioural conditioning & funneling¹ is comical.

Image: my last pack of cigarettes, kept as a reminder; almost 25yrs old to the day.

Prior to my illness but after finding Maya Popa's poem "Lewisburg" I made this graphic as an aid/guide while working with an artist to plan a larger version of the artwork.

We've shared our backyard with countless creatures over the years. Interrupting technological services I keep forgetting to turn off have reminded me of this possum, or opossum. Each morning, as winter gave way to springtime, this marsupial took shelter in a tree crotch and peered into the kitchen.

Promised not to share details except for food basics:

Chef brought in for private party

Wagyu beef

U2/3 prawns

Korean rice wine

An assortment of Asian flavors

So damn tasty and fun

after scanning various skeets, now seems like an appropriate time to post this graphic I made a couple yrs ago; love the line; happy I could tell the poet I enjoyed it when I inadvertently met her at an event my wife & I attended

to be fair I couldn't quote the line precisely when we met

Please also welcome Macarthur Gene ('the Beans') Yuss, who operates the online forum where Penny & Bill met. A former dance club owner turned playwright, Macarthur once embedded himself in a public accounting firm for months, an effort yielding his famous play "There's No Accounting for Stupid."

And THIS is Bill Fastbuck, Penny Hardcoin's accountant friend and like-minded and similarly motivated & action-orientated comrade who works at another company. The two met on a 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' online forum catering to community theatre actors.

Folks:
Meet Penny Hardcoin, my latest character, an accountant inspired by social media era journalists, a go-getter who lifts colleague's financial forecasts from copiers and who copy-pastes co-worker spreadsheets & gets in front of co execs first via cunning use of algos—office hallway shortcuts.

Logging into the lands of Norrath to play the druid for about an hour & recalled my embracing my inner pagan on Christmas ('24) morning, harvesting horseradish I planted during an eclipse. I am so ready to again be among the plants & dig my fingers into soil, to talk to the bees & butterflies.

Attended celebration day for family member. Had to miss a wake. Discovered I accidentally blocked someone I didn't intend to block. Met someone who knew the immigrant Vietnamese family my family met/befriended decades ago. A messy complicated beautiful day of life & living. Quite an emotional rush.

Enjoyed a pre-workout walk thru garden. Smaller insert compost bins look OK. Large compost pile in great shape. Greeted the birds and squirrels, perhaps offered an encouraging word to the cold stratification seeds. Earth to cold & solid to work & prepare. Ready for gardening season. So ready.

Sunday, 5:30am. Starting day with a slice of povitica and completing final details of a crafting project

Saturday Shenanigans

Moving from a little video game playing to craft project completion before heading to the gym

A thick slice of povitica wriggled its way into the day, too... again, yes

Learned last night two men from my past—my long hair days, my days of leaving home as a teen to live in CA for a summer—died within two weeks of each other.

Howl ye hounds of Hell's army. Call your brothers to you.

(RIP, you two.
Canis tribute photo, to see you off.)

This Random Riff remains one of my favorite creations. I created it in March 2016, when Trump was being provided with a type of social cover by platformed people (press, pols, celebs, etc.). I'm certain I'll reshare again on/near its creation date anniversary. Accurate description/prediction? ✌️

Just started rereading Middlemarch this morning in advance of a séance wherein ghosts of the modernists shall be summoned and then queried to ascertain which of them, if any, has been convinced by Woolf inside the afterlife

The above is not a slam on Luke's; their lobster BLT makes it on my shortlist of 'Geoff Always Craves.'

It is fucking delicious!!

View the photo... gaze upon its magnificence.
