"protests don't work" says country with no healthcare, daily gun massacres, degrading infrastructure, massive corruption, and a felon for a president.

Quiet lake, where spirits sleep,
Mountains rise, their secrets keep.
Canoe drifts on waters still,
Peaceful moments nature fills.
Spirits hum in softest tones,
Ancient trees with stories known,
Canoe's journey, heart's delight,
Nature's song by day and night.

The small nation of Vanuatu put the entire industrialized world on trial this month in The Hague. The case is about climate change. Do countries have a legal as well as a moral obligation to prevent a planetary disaster?
The International Court of Justice Takes On Climate Change
Thanks to the maneuverings of the tiny nation of Vanuatu, the entire industrialized world is effectively on trial in The Hague.

The rebels have liberated hundreds of women, toddlers and babies held in Sednaya prison.

They've also released hundred of prisoners some of which were tortured to the point of forgetting their own identity, others held for decades for speaking out against the regime. #freeSyria

Imagine caring more about "taxes" than keeping people in your community alive. All healthcare should be free and all medication / treatment accessible for all. Thinking otherwise is both homicidal and suicidal. If your country can afford to have billionaires, it can afford to provide for everyone.

So glad Bluesky is cracking down on impersonators and parody accounts.

NOTE: Since no one can prove God is real, I am therefore not an impersonation or a parody.

Hi, I’m God.

Shirley Jackson’s short story from 1948, which inspired the most mail The New Yorker had ever received in response to a work of fiction.
“The Lottery,” by Shirley Jackson
Fiction, from 1948: “The people had done it so many times that they only half listened to the directions; most of them were quiet, wetting their lips, not looking around.”
