A tiny independent not-for-profit record label in the UK. Music deserving of wider attention. Reissued for the first time on vinyl in small batches. With love. Posts by Simon. https://bio.site/unspunheroes

What’s a good band you’ve discovered recently that not enough people know about? And don’t be like The Beatles you piece of shit, you ornery fuck

I just had an email from someone about something that I am truly excited about. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but boy would this be a release to light up the world.

Probably jinxed it now.

I already have this but not the ripped cover variant!

I'm giving away this signed 1st edition h/b of my new novel (it has a tiny jacket rip which means I wouldn't sell it) to one person who reposts this.

You might like it if you like:
Folkloric creatures
Old records
Intricate psychedelic stories
The idea of circular time

All shares much-appreciated.

Royal Mail online will allow you to buy postage as they can API into the US customs database and setup ahead of you posting. It’s the only way around it. However, today is the first time I’ve experienced them refusing to scan a prepaid label.

Oh same. They know me. As ever, we can trace this idiocy back to the Tories and their idea that private for-profit companies are best. It almost makes me want to chuck it all in right now. Just hope they arrive or I’m £200 out of pocket.

I propose we make a sacrifice of an orange goblin to the Gods of Shipping Vinyl. It’s the only way.

My local post office refused to accept the parcel. They have been instructed not to accept any US post. The Royal Mail website lets you buy postage for the US. I stood my ground and they scanned it in to the system as if paid and printed my own labels. Stupidity turned up to 11.

Pray for me, I'm sending vinyl out to the US.

This looks like a car crash. I don’t wanna look but… I’m going to hate myself, aren’t I?

Nope. I accept your opinions that this is shite and my will power is strong.

Crisis averted.

Thanks! They’re really shiny so it’s hard to take a photo that does them justice 😂

Living and what by whom, you say?

Ah, yes, I find fantastic albums that passed many people by and have them all spruced up for a small pressing - their vinyl debut, actually.

I pull together *new* stuff for the release, and put a lot of love into packing it all up.

I think the badges arrived perked me up. I've started packaging up the far away international orders for Living & Growing by The Felt Tips, and over the course of this week I'll be packaging up the remainder of those and sending them out.

Badges have arrived. Shiny and hard to photograph, but I have a box of them ready for the gig. They look better IRL.
Two badges sat atop bags of many badges.

The left badge is 25mm in diameter and features a rose at the top and a face at the bottom; between the two are the words The Felt Tips. The background colour of the badge is black.

The right badge is 38mm in diameter and features the words The Felt Tips at the top and Living & Growing at the bottom. In the centre are roses, with a further rose at the very bottom of the badge. The badge's background is black.

Came around from a “Lemsip coma” and this is what the universe put in my head:

“Give me a sign to pursue a promise…”

I think I’m starting to feel better.

Still unwell.

Good news: the badges for those seeing The Felt Tips in London or Glasgow arrive tomorrow. Will haul myself from my sick bed and make sure they're safe.

A big thanks to @graemealdy.bsky.social who kindly sent me these two releases by Hurrah! in the post. Arrived yesterday but I’ve not been feeling very well so as yet they are Unspun, which I hope to rectify tomorrow. For now, back to bed.
An album cover featuring three men in leather jackets, posed with serious expressions. They are holding musical instruments, and the band’s name "Hurrah!" is prominently displayed in large, distressed pink lettering. A sleeve of a 12-inch single featuring the band’s name and the record’s title "Hurrah! if Love Could Kill" with a stylized design and coloured alternately red and white. Two band members are shown in motion, one playing a guitar the other with a guitar strapped to their body. The background appears to be an industrial space with high ceilings.

Saw this at the cinema. Utterly mesmerising.

I’ll also put out a shout for the @skepwax.bsky.social release of Sassyhiya’s album, Take You Somewhere: sassyhiya.bandcamp.com/album/take-y...

Made me smile so much when they supported The Cords last week. The recorded version is just as ace but I suggest catching them live too.
