Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.

And the reality is that we could all have much nicer stuff if we pooled our resources and actually invested in public spaces. But we keep getting outplayed by the Scrooge MacDucks whose only joy comes from having more "stuff" than the rest of us.
