We've just come back from a great weekend at the Green Man Festival. Weather was lovely, music was great and we had a great time talking with ~1500 people about what health research questions they would like answers to. Lots of reflections to share - once we've finished unpacking and sleeping!
Images shows pieces of white fabric with handwriting and pictures on it, hanging from string in a tree on a sunny day. This is research question bunting. The writing cannot be easily read in this image because the bunting was blowing in the wind but the bunting represents questions about health that people would like there to be research on. Popular themes included women's health, diet and mental health.

If you are at the Green Man Festival at the weekend come and visit us in Einstein's Garden! We have a range of activities to demonstrate how to be an epidemiologist.

We have a great time on Saturday at #KeynshamMusicFestival talking about how to be an epidemiologist. Thank you to the festival for inviting us and for all the interesting conversations with the people who visited our stall.
A white gazebo under a tree, with two people in front. Hanging from the gazebo are three pictures with holes cut out for faces so people can take photos with them to 'picture yourself as an epidemiologist'. One picture shows a doctor weighing a baby, another shows a someone analysing health data on a laptop, while the third shows someone standing at a podium briefing policy makers. A man in a grey top and a white sunhat and a woman with a spotty dress and blonde pigtails standing in a white gazebo. The man is standing in front of a map of cholera cases in Victorian London. The woman is holding a photo stand in of a painting of someone behind a podium doing a Covid policy briefing. A man points to a map of cholera cases in Victorian London, mounted on a wooden board. This is a game called 'Pin the pump on the map', where visitors put a magnet where they think the contaminated pump is.
